      <image:caption>What emotions, colors, aromas, imagery, and sensations rise up for you? For me: heat. Fire. Red. A warrior walking steadily through flames. Then, indigo. A cooling wave of calm authority. Empowerment settling into the bones. The grounding coolness of black volcanic sand at Playa Negra beneath bare feet. I can feel the spirits of my outspoken, zero-bullshit-tolerating, fuck-social-norms grandparents—Grandfather George Duncan and Grandmother Dorothy Blowe—standing firmly behind me, reminding me who I am and what I carry.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>For centuries, Black people, the African Diasporas, and brown people have been pitted against one another—an ongoing global propaganda campaign designed to corrupt minds and influence the people to remain small, obedient, and locked in cyclical chaos. Yet the beautiful truth about being Black—beyond the way we age, our deep wisdom of land, water, and space, and our continually forgiving spirit—is our resilience. Regardless of circumstance, we rebuild our infrastructures even when they are purposefully destroyed. We spread joy and deep agape love. We constantly save ourselves. And we redirect our energy toward resting, nourishing ourselves, and uncovering more joy in our lives.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Power to the People: A Season of Pause and Power - The Black Panther Party demonstrated what collective power, self-determination, and community care look like in action—from free breakfast programs and health clinics to political education and grassroots organizing. Their work reminds us that empowerment is not abstract; it is practiced daily through service, protection, education, and unity. As I continue moving into my season of pauses, I leave you with this beautiful short film, “Those Who Chose The Sea.”</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - A Sacred Pause Before What’s Next</image:title>
      <image:caption>During one of my many falls — and yes, I stayed and completed the entire lesson — I decided to lay on the snow a little longer than necessary. There, on the ground, I had a quiet conversation with God. I shared gratitude for this humbling experience, especially as a dancer and lifelong athlete. Looking up at the trees against the blue winter sky, I thought about the Indigenous people who walked this land long before me. Then my thoughts moved to the Black Indigenous histories across the Delta regions — Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee — to Afro-Seminoles and the Mardi Gras Indians, and to the lesser-told stories of Black frontiers and Black Eskimos in the Pacific Northwest.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - A Sacred Pause Before What’s Next</image:title>
      <image:caption>As I continued resting on the snow, I wondered: Did they ever lie on the ground like this too? Taking a breath. A pause. A moment of stillness between survival and movement. That moment on the snow became something deeper — a reminder of the power of pause. After eight years in business, and reaching many of the goals I set over the last five, I’m approaching year nine this June. I can feel that creating intentional space as I enter my 40s is not optional — it’s required of me. There is always power in pausing. Stillness makes room for newness to enter: new energy, deeper presence, and transformative healing.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - A Sacred Pause Before What’s Next - As I step back from branding and marketing for a bit, the words from Octavia F. Raheem’s book Pause, Rest, Be resonate deeply: “Please stop spinning. Please stop scrambling to be productive in the ways that mattered yesterday. Honor the lessons of yesterday and let everything else about that recent, yet distant past fall away. Something is happening now that demands us to be present for it.” And so, I pause. To listen. To heal. To become present for what is unfolding now.</image:title>

      <image:caption>Last week was a reminder that all truths can exist at once: joy, love, and resilience. It was also a reminder of the infamous words of Nina Simone: “An artist’s duty, as far as I’m concerned, is to reflect the times. I think that is true of painters, sculptors, poets, musicians.”</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Joy, Love, and Resilience</image:title>
      <image:caption>The civil rights movement has been on my mind these past few days. I’ve been reflecting on how much joy, love, and resilience were stitched through that movement—and how our current reality is no different. At its core, the civil rights movement was not only about protest, but about dignity, access, and belonging. Activists fought for—and won—key pieces of federal legislation that reshaped the nation:</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Joy, Love, and Resilience - The Civil Rights Act of 1964, which banned discrimination in public accommodations and employment. The Voting Rights Act of 1965, which extended protections to voters—particularly in the South—against suppression and intimidation. The Fair Housing Act of 1968, which made housing discrimination illegal. These laws were hard-fought victories. And yet, decades later, the principles they were meant to protect—equal access, fair representation, and the right to live freely and safely—are still being challenged, reinterpreted, and defended anew. As we continue to fight for our rights, joy, love, and resilience remain our cornerstone—just as they were then. They are not distractions from the struggle; they are fuel for it.</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - When History Breathes Through Us</image:title>
      <image:caption>There's an interesting narrative that's been swirling around for the past 10 years: "This is not the America I know." This narrative makes me laugh and reminds me of the lack of awareness of this country's domestic and global history. Two weeks ago, several schools on Beacon Hill went on lockdown due to ICE sightings. As a proud Aunty of six, messing with the babies evokes a deep rage and sadness within me. One of my nieces asked, "Will I be okay?" Of course, words of comfort were given, and the truth is maybe.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>This moment echoes the historical story of Ruby Bridges. Ruby was born in 1954, was just six years old when she became the first Black child to integrate an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Escorted daily by U.S. Marshals and facing open hostility, her quiet courage became a defining symbol of America’s resistance to—and reckoning with—racial injustice. Her story reminds us that children have always stood at the center of this country’s most uncomfortable truths.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - When History Breathes Through Us - Movement Snack: Back of Neck Stretch The back of the neck is where stress, posture, and screen time tend to build up. This gentle stretch helps release tension along the cervical spine, supports better mobility, and signals the nervous system to slow down. Move slowly, keep your shoulders relaxed, and breathe—aim for ease, not strain. Even 30 seconds can help you feel more open, calm, and supported. <image:title>Blog - Holding Care, Even When the World Feels Heavy</image:title>
      <image:caption>When the world feels like this, it’s normal to feel unsettled, distracted, or emotionally tired. Nothing is “wrong” with you for feeling the weight of it. At Indigo Movement, we believe care begins by tending to the nervous system. Here are a few gentle reminders for this moment:</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60a6e61a648b4062adeb8992/1769446574313-Y6VIJK0354A08EPE5NBY/unsplash-image-vCzh1jOyre8.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Blog - Holding Care, Even When the World Feels Heavy</image:title>
      <image:caption>Pause and breathe slowly. When stress rises, the body often shifts into alert mode. Try slowing your breath, especially the exhale — a longer exhale tells your nervous system that it’s safe to soften, even briefly. Ground into your body. Gentle movement, stretching, holding something warm, or placing a hand on your chest or belly can help bring you out of your head and back into the present moment.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60a6e61a648b4062adeb8992/1769446583331-BHA0T4G26TCWM0P294MZ/unsplash-image-m-gqDRzbJLQ.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Blog - Holding Care, Even When the World Feels Heavy - Be intentional with news consumption. Staying informed matters, but constant exposure can overwhelm the nervous system. Consider setting boundaries — specific times to check updates — and giving yourself permission to step away. Reach for connection. You don’t have to carry everything alone. A conversation with a trusted person, even without solutions, can be deeply regulating. Being seen and heard matters. Create small rituals of calm. Simple, repeated practices — making tea, journaling a few lines, lighting a candle, watching Abbot Kinney or crying — help signal steadiness and care, especially during uncertain times.</image:title>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>Blog - Holding Care, Even When the World Feels Heavy - Healing doesn’t mean ignoring what’s happening. It means staying present in your current truths, creating space to honor those truths, and bring our systems to neutral. Staying regulated isn’t checking out. It’s choosing to stay functional, present, and responsible for your impact.</image:title>

What feels aligned—not just impressive? What relationships feel reciprocal, nourishing, and rooted in trust? We’ve learned that growth doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like refinement. <image:title>Blog - Moving with Intention…</image:title>
      <image:caption>As we move through winter and energy of the Fire Horse, we’re holding both reverence and readiness. Reverence for what has carried us this far. Readiness for what’s asking to be born next. Fire Horse energy is bold, intuitive, and deeply embodied—but it’s also discerning. It reminds us that power is most effective when it’s directed with intention.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Our hope for this next chapter is simple and steady: To continue creating spaces that feel safe, thoughtful, and restorative. To partner with people and organizations who lead with integrity. To keep choosing care over convenience, depth over speed, and community over optics. This next chapter isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what matters, with clarity and care. Cheers, Team Indigo Movement</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Tiana stands tall and extends both arms straight out in front of her to target the muscles of the forearms. Using one hand, she gently guides the opposite wrist up and down, alternating between stretching the flexor and extensor muscles of the forearm. This slow, controlled motion helps release built-up tension from repetitive use, improve wrist mobility, and support ease through the hands and arms. <image:caption>For Indigo Movement, 2025 became one of intentional slowing down. A time to appreciate and closely inspect the fruits of eight years of devotion, care, and labor. We created space to dream alongside healers we’ve known and trusted for years, while also holding space to grieve the endings of businesses and peers we love and respect.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>In 2025, our business was honored to be part of powerful healing work across a range of retreats and gatherings—working alongside individuals and organizations who truly understand the importance of investing in Black and Brown communities, acknowledging the land we gather on, and not being afraid to choose a side rooted in care, justice, and integrity. 2025 has been an empowering year for Indigo Movement. The seeds my team and I planted—watered, pruned, and nurtured over time—have produced fruits full of support, alignment, and blessing. For that, we are deeply grateful!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Embodiment, Endings, and Entering What’s Next</image:title>
      <image:caption>2025 was a good year for me, despite everything unfolding around me. It was a year of deepening my relationship with myself. I returned to weekly dance classes, committed to private Spanish lessons, and immersed myself in shamanic tantra and emotional intelligence studies. Each practice brought me closer to embodiment, presence, and truth. With eight years of business experience, thirty-eight years of lived life, and what feels like sixty-eight years of soul wisdom, it became time to fully inhabit my vessel—and to move with intention toward a state of ultimate thriving.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Embodiment, Endings, and Entering What’s Next</image:title>
      <image:caption>The first half of the year was spent between San Diego, México City, New York, Palm Springs, Los Angeles, and Portland—living what I lovingly call my part-time stay-at-home wife life, sponsored entirely by me. My days were filled with discovering gifted healers and practitioners, attending unforgettable music experiences, exploring transformative culinary moments, and simply being with people I love. I invested joyfully in local businesses, received spa treatments from the crème de la crème, and sought out remarkable bartenders, intimate poetry nights, and the most soulful salsa, house, and reggae scenes each city had to offer.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Embodiment, Endings, and Entering What’s Next</image:title>
      <image:caption>The second half of the year shifted inward. It became a season of love, vulnerability, and allowing others to truly show up for me. These months tested my relationship with endings and deepened my understanding of emotional agility. I met a tender, beautiful soul, and I also witnessed certain friendships reach their natural close. As with all things, life continues its rhythm of birth, life, and death. As I prepare to close out the final chapters of my thirties, I can say with confidence—forty is going to look delicious on me. And 2025 showed me just how deeply in love, and in knowing, I am with myself. Cheers, Indigo Movement Team</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Reflecting on the Year, One Small Step at a Time</image:title>
      <image:caption>Real change doesn’t usually happen in big, sweeping moments. It happens through small adjustments made over time. A deeper breath. A clearer boundary. One habit shifted with intention instead of force. Before looking ahead, we invite you to pause and reflect on this year—not to judge it, but to understand it. Reflection allows us to notice what worked, what stretched us, and what no longer fits. From that awareness, small changes naturally emerge—changes that are far more sustainable than drastic resolutions.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>To support you, here are a few simple journal prompts to explore at your own pace: • What small moments this year brought me a sense of calm, joy, or clarity? • Where did I grow—even if it felt subtle or slow? • What habits or patterns am I ready to soften or release? • What is one small change that would support my well-being moving forward? • How can I take one gentle step toward feeling more grounded in daily life?</image:caption>

Pair it with magnesium and protein to keep your immune system strong and your energy stable. A little mindful supplementation now can make a big difference in how your body adapts to the months ahead. We’re fans of these NatureWise Vitamin D supplements—just be sure to consult your doctor first before adding any new supplements to your routine! Cheers, Indigo Movement Team</image:caption>

Starting on hands and knees, press your palms into the mat, tuck your toes, and lift your hips toward the sky to form an inverted “V.” Keep your spine long, head relaxed, and heels gently reaching toward the floor. This pose energizes the body, lengthens the hamstrings and shoulders, and calms the mind. Follow us for more movement snacks HERE!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Don’t feel pressured to rush into fall rituals if your body isn’t ready—listen to what it’s asking for and allow yourself to ease into the season at your own pace. Resistance is simply the body’s way of communicating its need for gentleness and stability as the environment changes. Instead of pushing through, give yourself permission to honor that slower rhythm.</image:caption>

The combination of heat, humidity, and stillness helps release built-up tension, supports detoxification, and allows the nervous system to soften—offering both physical and emotional comfort as we settle into the season. Next week, we’ll explore how to move from resistance to acceptance—learning to truly embrace the season by aligning our routines, rest, and nourishment with the natural rhythm of fall. You extend your thumb away from your palm, then slowly trace small circles in the air—first clockwise, then counterclockwise. This improves flexibility, reduces stiffness, and can ease strain from typing, texting, or gripping. They’re often used in hand therapy, warm-ups for musicians, or quick desk breaks to keep your hands feeling good. Follow us on YouTube for more content!</image:caption>
