Embracing Fall with Grace

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, many of us at Indigo Movement (and some of our clients) have noticed something: a resistance to the change in season.

It’s not uncommon to wish summer would stay a little longer or to feel our bodies resist the darker, slower pace of fall. But instead of fighting that resistance, what if we learned to lean into it? We believe in embracing both sides—the resistance and the transition. Here are a few ways to do that as we move into fall:

Don’t feel pressured to rush into fall rituals if your body isn’t ready—listen to what it’s asking for and allow yourself to ease into the season at your own pace. Resistance is simply the body’s way of communicating its need for gentleness and stability as the environment changes. Instead of pushing through, give yourself permission to honor that slower rhythm.

As temperatures drop, focus on practices that bring warmth and grounding. Using an infrared light or an infrared suit can be a wonderful way to maintain internal warmth and boost circulation, especially when the chill starts to seep in. Infrared heat penetrates deeply into the body, helping to relax muscles, increase energy, and even lift your mood during darker months.

For deeper restoration, carve out time for a sauna or steam session at places like Soak & Sage Spa or City Sweats. The combination of heat, humidity, and stillness helps release built-up tension, supports detoxification, and allows the nervous system to soften—offering both physical and emotional comfort as we settle into the season.

Next week, we’ll explore how to move from resistance to acceptance—learning to truly embrace the season by aligning our routines, rest, and nourishment with the natural rhythm of fall.

Cheers,
Indigo Movement Team
