Season of Giving: Local Drives That Make a Difference
This season, local businesses are coming together to spread holiday cheer and support families in need. From Swoon City’s Ballard Food Drive to Noir Lux Candle Bar’s Shine & Share Drive and Angeline’s free pop-up heels class benefiting the Rainier Valley Food Bank, each effort celebrates the power of community care. Whether you’re donating food, essentials, or simply showing up, every act of kindness helps make the season a little brighter for all.
Angeline’s bringing back her free pop-up heels class on November 24th—and it’s all for a good cause! There’s no class fee; just bring at least one unopened, unused item to support the Rainier Valley Food Bank and help spread a little love this holiday season. Items needed can be found HERE (2nd slide). The fun kicks off from 7:30–9:30 PM at Yaw Theater, with every fierce moment captured by @korrze. It’s an open-level class featuring an intermediate/advanced combo, with modifications offered for any floorwork or technical moves. Come dance, give back, and serve some serious energy—all while doing good for the community. To sign up click HERE!
Swoon City, Seattle’s beloved romance bookstore and creative hub, is proud to be participating in the Ballard Food Drive all month long, supporting the Ballard Food Bank! Help them spread that love even further by bringing in your non-perishable food items to their bookstore at 1716 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107, and support neighbors in need. Every donation makes a difference—let’s fill those shelves and hearts together!
Shine & Share Food & Essentials Drive
Noir Lux Candle Bar is collecting donations to support local families experiencing food insecurity. They’re accepting non-expired canned goods (soups, stews, and chili), white rice, pasta, pasta sauce, and top ramen, as well as baby formula, baby food, diapers, wipes, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Gift cards in the amount of $25 or $50 to Safeway, QFC, or Grocery Outlet are also appreciated. All donations will be distributed to local partner schools and community organizations serving families directly impacted. Drop off items at Noir Lux Candle Bar at 3020 Warren Pl, Seattle 98121, and help them share a little light and love this holiday season. To learn more, click HERE!

Movement Snack: Downward Dog
Downward dog is a classic yoga pose that strengthens, stretches, and restores the body. To practice it, start on your hands and knees, tuck your toes, and lift your hips to form an inverted “V” shape. Press through your palms, relax your head between your arms, and gently reach your heels toward the mat. This pose lengthens the spine, opens the shoulders and hamstrings, builds strength, improves circulation, and calms the mind—making it the perfect quick reset anytime.
