Collective Care Starts Here…
As we move into November—a season of gratitude and giving—it’s important to remember that many still struggle to meet basic needs. Programs like EBT, food stamps (SNAP), and WIC continue to provide vital support, yet rising costs and limited funding mean access remains fragile—and some emergency benefits are ending soon, leaving gaps for households that heavily rely on them. It’s a reminder of how essential collective care is—and how much impact we can make by giving back, supporting local food drives, and standing with those in need. Here are a few ways to give back…
Lenox—an Afro Latin restaurant located in Belltown—will be offering Free SNAP To-Go Dinners for anyone in the community affected by the loss of SNAP benefits.
Meals are available from 4:30–7:30PM, while supplies last — just email, call, or text them at (206) 375-4557 to find out what’s cooking that day.
For those asking how to help, they’ve also created a Venmo to support with food costs @lenoxcommunitysupport.
Luv-a-Latte—your favorite Black-owned, pink café in Tacoma—is opening its doors to anyone who needs a meal, no questions asked.
If you or someone you know could use a warm meal and a kind space, please stop by: 1102 S Yakima Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405
For those asking how to help, donations are welcome via Venmo @luvalatte-espresso.
Toasted Seattle—the premier halal bagel cafe and coffee shop serving fresh, handcrafted bagels, sandwiches, artisanal coffee, and pastries—is offering free breakfast to those in need. No proof needed or questions asked.
For those asking how to help, you can donate HERE. All it takes is $5 to help cover the cost of one full meal (a sandwich + drink) for those who are losing their SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown. TOASTED. will take care of the rest!
