It’s the month of celebration, and this week we’re talking about Juneteenth! Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The history of Juneteenth dates back to June 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Texas, issued an order which proclaimed the freedom of all enslaved people in Texas.
