The Secret to Youth — Mobility
With the work from home era, it’s common to sit behind a desk for eight hours, in front of a TV for three, and then lie in bed for another eight. When we spend too much time in stagnation, internal connective tissues become short and tight. This connective tissue is called fascia. When it’s not properly mobilized it can leave you feeling stiff, in pain, and even obstruct organs.

Breathwork refers to breathing exercises or techniques that improve your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. With breathwork you intentionally change your breathing pattern; especially when you're annoyed. ;)

Retraining Your Body
To recap my treatment process, the client shares their life updates while I take note of their repetitive movement, posture, and environmental stressors they’ve shared. Once they are on the massage table, I can palpate what joints have more mobility, muscles that are overused, or adhesions within the soft tissue (connective tissue sticking to each other), and can introduce my touch with gentle movements to their nervous system. This is my favorite part of a massage session which is deactivating and retraining the nervous system through movement, heat, aromatherapy, and breathwork.
