July is in Full Bloom—Breathe It All In!

From the soothing scent of fresh produce at Pike Place Market to the crisp sea air after a summer storm, smell is one of our most powerful senses—and one we often take for granted. At Indigo Movement, we’re all about tuning in to the senses, especially the ones that ground us in the present.

Each week, we’re celebrating the power of our senses—how it evokes memory, enhances mood, and even reduces stress. Looking for ways to engage your nose (and soul) around Seattle? Here are a few sensory-rich experiences to inspire your July:

Sequim Lavender Weekend

For over 20 years, Sequim’s lavender farms have welcomed visitors from around the globe. Each July, the third weekend bursts with color and calm during Sequim Lavender Weekend from July 18th to 20th—a celebration filled with farm tours, a lively festival in the park, and local events. Breathe in the soothing scent and soak up the joy of this fragrant summer tradition. View a list of events HERE!

Wednesdays at Pike Place Market

Experience the scents of summer at Produce on Pike, a weekly evening farmers market at Pike Place from July 9 to September 10. Every Wednesday, 3–7 PM, enjoy the aromas of fresh produce, herbs, flowers, and live chef demos—all in the heart of Seattle. Let your nose lead the way! Learn more HERE!

Forest Bathing in the Arboretum

Take a calming stroll through the Washington Park Arboretum or Carkeek Park, where the air is filled with the soothing scents of nature. The Arboretum, a 230-acre sanctuary on Lake Washington, offers a diverse collection of plants, each contributing to the fragrant atmosphere. At the south end, the Japanese Garden invites you to immerse yourself in its serene scents, with an entrance fee required. Learn more HERE!

Smell is memory, emotion, and healing. Let this month be a practice in presence. Pause. Inhale. Let it move you!

With love and gratitude,
Indigo Movement Team

Summer Safety

As the sun’s rays get stronger, protecting your skin with SPF is a must! Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every morning, and reapply every two hours, especially if you're sweating or swimming. Don't forget the often-missed spots: your ears, back of your neck, and the tops of your feet! Choosing a water-resistant formula will give you extra protection for those fun beach days or outdoor workouts. Stay safe and keep your skin glowing—your future self will thank you!
