Help Us Feed Seattle This Thanksgiving Day

As we approach Thanksgiving later this week, we’re reminded of the power of community—how each of us can make a meaningful impact when we come together with intention and care.

At Indigo Movement, our work centers around connection: connection to body, breath, and the world around us. And this holiday, we want to deepen that connection by extending our movement beyond ourselves and toward those who need support the most. Here are some ways to support those in our community.

The Salvation Army’s Hope Market in Renton is seeing a sharp rise in families needing support, and with Thanksgiving approaching this week, their shelves are running low. They urgently need non-perishable food donations—especially soup, canned chicken or tuna, and canned fruit—to help fill their “Thanksgiving Wall” grocery boxes. If you’d like to help, donations can be dropped off at 206 S. Tobin St., Renton, WA 98057 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, or you can donate online HERE. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference in ensuring local families have a nourishing holiday meal. Learn more HERE.

Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission is calling on the community to help provide warm holiday meals for individuals and families in need. Their goal is to collect 1,500 frozen turkeys (15–20 lbs) to support men, women, and children in shelters, recovery programs, and local outreach. Every turkey donated helps ensure someone facing hardship can experience comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging this holiday season. Donations are being accepted through November 27, with additional turkeys shared with partner churches and families across the region. For more information and a list of drop-off locations, click HERE.

Bread of Life Mission is urgently in need of several key items to complete their holiday meal. The mission is seeking turkeys, Velveeta cheese, shredded cheese, butter, store-bought pies, and more. You can view the full list HERE. If you’re able to help, please drop off your donations at 97 S Main Street, Seattle, WA 98104.

They are also looking for more volunteers to help cook and prepare meals between today (Monday) and early Thursday morning, as well as to assist with setup and cleanup on Thanksgiving Day. To sign up, visit HERE or call 206-682-3579 x 202. Your support helps make the holiday warm, welcoming, and nourishing for our neighbors in need!

Cheers,
